Particularly appreciated in the Verdi and Verismo repertoire, he made his debut as Calaf (Turandot) in 2008 in Italy, after studying at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He then furthered his studies in Italy and Germany. Among his past successes, it is worth mentioning: Tosca (Verona-Teatro Filarmonico, Torre del Lago, Genoa); Turandot (Michigan Opera, Bogotà, Detroit, Nancy, Cagliari); Ernani (Bologna then on tour in Japan); Cavalleria Rusticana, Trovatore, I Vespri Siciliani (Athens); Turandot (Genoa, Skopje); Norma (Budapest); Cavalleria Rusticana (Las Palmas, Palermo) . In 2011 Mr. Park made his debut at the Nikikai Opera Foundation as Calaf in Turandot under the baton of Gianluigi Gelmetti. Recently he obtained great success as Radames in Aida in Liège and Skopje and he made his debut as Otello at the Korea National Opera in Seoul, role he sang also in Las Palmas and at the Teatro Regio in Parma for the opening night of the season at the Festival Verdi; important commitments followed: Tosca in Athens; Cavalleria Rusticana at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo; Turandot and Tosca at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago; Turandot at the Opera Sanxay; Aida in Warwaw; a lyric concert in Leipzig with the Gewandhaus Orchester.

Plans: Turandot in Las Palmas and at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; Samson et Dalila in Salerno; Aida in Warsaw; recital at the Opera Sanxay.

A noble and round voice, Gianluca Buratto is rapidly establishing himself as one of most versatile basses of his generation. His recent engagements include: Bach’s B minor Mass with Savall in Madrid and Barcelona, both Mozart and Jommelli’s Betulia liberata with Riccardo Muti in Salzburg, Ravenna and in Wroclaw under Rovaris; Bach’s Johannes-Passion with Lopez-Banzo in Spain and Germany; Macbeth at the Salzburg Festival, Rome and Chicago with Riccardo Muti then at La Scala in Milan; Le Nozze di Figaro in Barcelona with Rousset; La Bohème (with Riccardo Chailly) and I Due Foscari in Valencia; Rota’s Mysterium at the Vatican City, in Naples, Bari and in Milan (concert and recording) with La Verdi Orchestra; Rigoletto in Genoa under Luisi and in Bogotà; Händel’s Rinaldo and Admeto in Wien; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques in Nancy and Paris; La Bohème in Rome, Palermo and Amsterdam; I Puritani in Florence; Rigoletto at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata; Le Duc d’Albe in London for Opera Rara; Verdi’s Requiem in Manchester under Mark Elder. He had just starred in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and Vespers on US tour, at the Wigmore Hall in London and in Versailles under the baton of Sir John Eliot Gardiner; Guglielmo Ratcliff at the Wexford Festival Opera, Francesco Cilluffo conducting; Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte in Liège under the baton of Paolo Arrivabeni; a solo recital at the Wigmore Hall in London.

Plans include: I Due Foscari in Amsterdam; Faccio’s Amleto and Turandot at the Bregenzer Festspiele; Semiramide in London for Opera Rara; La Bohème at the Opera in Florence; Berlioz’ Roméo et Juliette in Beirut; Le Nozze di Figaro in Zurich; Don Giovanni in Bilbao.

Yannis Kokkos made his debut as set and costume designer working with stage director Antoine Vitez. From 1987 Yannis Kokkos started his work as director, with La Princesse Blanche world premiere of the play of R. M. Rilke, alternating both theatre performances and lyrical productions. Particularly appreciated for the elegance of his works, in recent seasons he directed: Assassinio nella cattedrale, by Pizzetti at Teatro alla Scala in Milan (2009); Die Frau ohne Schatten by Strauss, at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (2010); Boris Godounov (original version) at the Wiener Staatsoper (2012); Don Quichotte (2012) and Les Troyens (2014) at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg (2012); Ekkenosis by Dimitris Dimitriadis (World debut) at the Onassis Foundation in Athens (2013); Der Fliegende Höllender (2013) and Otello (2013) at the Athens Festival, Herodion Atticus Theater Athens; Turandot, Opera National de Lorraine Nancy France (2013); Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci at the Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse(2014).

At the beginning of 2015 he staged and designed Tristan und Isolde at Greek National Opera, Megaron of Music Athens and in May 2015 he revived his Nabucco production at Palau de Les Arts in Valencia. Yannis Kokkos is “Commandeur des Arts et Lettres” in France, he was awarded by the «Prix du Syndacat de la Critique», two Molières and by the “Laurence Olivier Prime” as best lyrical work for La Clemenza di Tito, staged at the Welsh National Opera. He obtained the “Critic Prize 2004” directing the first integral version of Berlioz’s Les Troyens at Théatre du Chatelet in Paris. Future plans include Samson et Dalila at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and Lucia di Lammermoor at the New National Opera in Beijing.
